Marys Meals Armagh and Benburb Group

This morning, Deirdre and I went to St. Patrick's Grammar School to witness Charlie Clarke have all his hair shaved off. What an exciting occasion! The school canteen was packed to capacity with students who eagerly anticipated that first clump of hair to fall😲 Charlie sat, cool as a cucumber as if he was just sitting at home watching tv.πŸ™‚ The students became quieter as Charlie's head became balder. Finally it was done and Charlie rose out of the chair and like an albatross taking flight lifted his two arms in the air and gave a big cheer. He was rewarded with a thunderous clap from the audience. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ St. Patrick's students are to be commended on the respect and admiration they have for each other. There is a lovely, palpable caring atmosphere in this school. Back to Charlie. This fantastic young adult has managed to raise more than Β£1,600 for Mary's Meals.πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ‘πŸ™ When doubled this is enough to provide meals for OVER TWO HUNDRED CHILDREN FOR A YEAR. πŸ‘«πŸ‘πŸ§πŸ§β€β™€οΈ Very , very impressive. Something else about Charlie caught my attention - when all was over and we were chatting to Charlie, he excused himself and said "Sorry, I have to get back to my studies". Now there is a young man from whom we could all learn!!!!
